When you travel together in a motor home~~you give a very concrete meaning to togetherness.
The space is small
The amenities are basic
You are pretty much together 24/7
Not for the faint of heart....I might add. LOL LOL LOL
I believe if you have a strong union this type of travel will strengthen it and if your union is "iffy" it could shatter it.
As you put mile after mile behind you...there is little to do but read, talk, listen to the occasional book on tape and if you are inclined....do some serious introspection; with perhaps an occasional photo op thrown in from time to time. You'll meet lovely people and visit interesting places...but for the most part it is simply a matter of "Just Being".
If one is not comfortable with that..it can make one cranky to say the least.
Nothing to keep you company but your companion and the beautiful scenery around you.
We were avid boaters before we began traveling in our coach...so the adjustment has been extremely easy for us. There is a new adventure around every corner and it does seem to make you view your surroundings with a little keener eye.......especially as it applies to one's companion.
Hugs,
Jo
PS.....THE ABOVE POSIES WERE GIVEN TO ME THIS MORNING BY MY DARLING HUSBAND THEY ARE CLOVER FLOWERS....AREN'T THEY PRECIOUS?
What a romantic husband you have. How wonderful that you have nothing but time to explore new places and enjoy alone time as well as with each other.

Beautiful flowers and a wonderful post. And so true. Jim and I have grown even closer and happier together since living in 450 square feet. But we have also seen marriages that couldn't handle it and they did end.
ReplyDeleteAdore your posts~!
ReplyDeleteYou have a very sweet hubby! Lovely flowers. I'll have to tell you about my hubby. He's the strong, silent type you might say. Pretty quiet as a rule...he does have his moments! Prior to a 2 week trip a few years ago, I was gathering CD's to take along thinking on this close to 4000 mile trip in the car that I'd need some music to listen to. Guess what? He. Talked. The. Whole. Trip. LOLOLOL!! I didn't get to listen to music at all! It was too funny, but I didn't say a word. Heck, I didn't need too, he did all the talking! LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy travels and enjoy your togetherness......Have a wonderful weekend...xv
ReplyDeleteI could not agree with you more! Well stated! Love the posies and the sentiment behind them. So sweet! I absolutely love visiting your site Jo. ~Hugs, M

Awww, such sweetness you share together...and with us:) Enjoy this special coziness you two!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like the perfect life to me! :)
ReplyDeleteI admit that I am not so certain I could manage this type of lifestyle for the long term. I would, however, enjoy doing it occasionally. I admire your pioneering spirit, and your dedication to your marriage, that y'all can make this dynamic work so well. And how blessed are you, that your love still brings you flowers?! That made me smile straight from my heart. Lovely post, Miss Jo!

Your flowers are gorgeous. So sweet. I think it speaks volumes that you and your husband can take these lovely road trips and just enjoy one anothers company.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I agree. We were just talking about togetherness and being in close quarters for days at a time . . . that is when you really get to know someone and often learn more about yourslef as well.
ReplyDeleteA very true post.
