RADIO DAYS.................................

Remember these? I imagine some of you younger bloggers don't....but I do.   Nothing stirs memories like downsizing, packing and moving.  As you look at each item deciding what to keep...what to discard...one cannot help but be reminded of earlier times and places. These are old radios left to both Brad and me from our long deceased parents.   The Farnsworth in the first pic belonged to his parents.  I  can just imagine the family gathered around it listening with anticipation to favorite programs and imaging the happenings in their mind's eye.  The second radio..belonged to my mom and dad...perhaps it came down from my grandmother...who knows.  Anyway, I can envision my mom listening to events about the war while my dad was stationed elsewhere.  We actually had this radio while we lived in Germany because I have seen it in a few photos taken during my time there as a small child. These are treasures we will never part...

LETTING THE KID IN YOU COME OUT TO PLAY.......IT's ALL ABOUT COLOR....

I believe creating anything....is about letting the child that is inside of you come out to play.  Remember as a kid you could daydream for hours and your imagination would go wild!!   Well.....I believe that is just what we need to do when making anything creative. Now if you know me....you know my home is all ABOUT COLOR....any kind....almost anywhere..... This is what I came up with.... Haven't put the sealer on it yet as it needs to dry overnight....but I think it is pretty cute....especially for a young grand child or baby's room....OR for a grandma who is still very young at heart!! I'm going to put this right in my living room among the other very co...

"LES DEUX AMIES"....LIFELONG FRIENDSHIPS..........

Have any of you been fortunate enough to have a life long girlfriend? I know......I haven't.  Oh I have friends that have been in my life for many, many years...but I don't have one left that is from my pre- school or grammar school years.   Occasionally one will come to mind such as Stephanie....my very best friend....in my middle school years.  I spent hours at her house playing tether-ball....gads...I wonder if anyone even knows what tether-ball is in today's world? Another one....Jenny....in my early school years in a very small town in Kansas.  Alas, my family ended up moving far away from its roots so....no more Jenny. And there was Nancy....she was PERFECT....I mean perfect in the nicest way.  Her clothes were always ironed, her skin and hair were beautiful, she was kind and her mom was A STAY AT HOME MOM. They had dessert EVERY NIGHT after dinner....I mean every night!!! A kid's dream. Each of these girls touched my life in a specia...
