I offer you my hand in friendship
Given freely~no strings attached
Please do not refuse this small gesture
For it is all I have to give
You see, I'm on a different journey now
Left sadness, sorrow and loss behind
My path ahead is straight and narrow
My time is now ~ not yesterday ~ not tomorrow
I offer you my hand in friendship
For it is all I have to give

I wrote the above sometime ago. Have had it in a journal saved for a future time. Purchased the beautiful hand in a little shop in Ojai. It spoke to me and I think it speaks volumes with my writing. Hopefully you enjoy it.
Gentle hugs,
Jo
Awe Jo, what a wonderful bit of inspiration! Absolutely love it! So very true and the place I find myself at these days! Love the hand! And yes, I would agree that it definitely does go well with your writing! Love & Hugs~M

Jo that is beautiful writing, you have a way with words and your outstretched Hand is lovely and lines up with the beautiful verse.
ReplyDeleteHad to smile at the comment you left on my Mannequin Twins Post... yep, my old Hippie outlook of communal living actually comes in handy during these challenging economic times... many hands makes the work lighter and good company & fellowship are priceless gifts that can be enjoyed daily with a full house. I am glad the Mannequin Twins don't eat though... but if they did we'd just throw more water in the beans. *smiles*

Oh Jo, your poem is magnificent. Such a gentle invitation with no hidden agendas. The hand in presentation of the prose just adds to its purity. I would love to offer mine in return.
ReplyDeleteJo, What a lovely poem to go with the lovely photos. The hand is so symbolic, isn't it? I'm guessing it will inspire more poetry, which I hope you will share.
