I'M SORT OF A HISTORY BUFF..........ARE YOU??????

In college I started out as a History Major.....I ended up going into Accounting and Marketing eventually.....but never lost my love of History. Ah but I diverge from my story.....anyway......the above book is about Lewis and Clark's incredible journey during the founding of our country.  I read the book a few years ago and was absolutely dumbstruck by what they had to endure.   The Lewis and Clark trail follows what is now HWY 93 thru Idaho and Montana. The Salmon River area is where Sacajawea, their young Indian guide was born.  We visited the small museum that is a tribute to this brave woman and the men she led.   I believe young people of today should read books like the one above....so they can truly understand what it took to make this great country of ours. Without Lewis and Clark's expedition none of the pioneering of the West would have happened. The above are some examples of the pioneer original abodes that are still standing in these wonderful states.

GOOD MORNING CAMPERS................!!!!!!!!

First of all......a big thank you to those of you are following me along this little trip of ours. I again, apologize for not being able to visit each and every one of you as much as I might like.....but the WI-FI when traveling makes it almost impossible to visit as many blogs as I would like.  Anyway.......we are now in IDAHO and this is how this part of the country looks  along Hwy 93.  It is breathtaking.....wouldn't you agree. I'm a big city girl.....an I find it truly amazing that there is still so much BEAUTIFUL LAND throughout our country that is still in its natural form. Most of you probably know that our highways often follow along the old trails. This little spot above is a tribute to the Oregon Trail followed by many of the pioneers when settling our beautiful country.  Each vendor in town plants a little spot of this  memorial garden and tends to it lovingly. Hwy 93 follows the Salmon River and that has been our route......we have passed by beaut

THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED.............

Traveling the country in a motor home is not for everyone.....but if you have one as lovely as the one above.........   What's not to love........Can you imagine snuggling down in this...... Can you just imagine taking a nice long bubble bath here?? Or making your morning cup of coffee in this beautiful spot..... This beautiful made over Airstream Trailer belongs to the very creative couple behind Magnolia Pearl.......you know,  the lady who makes all those incredibly  beautiful tops, bloomers, dresses, vests, and bags out of carpet bags and lace. I would just like to park this baby in my back yard as my little get away. I would never take her on the road. Wouldn't you?? Till the next stop dear friends....... JO

I LEFT MY HEART IN PARK CITY, UTAH...................

THIS IS A CITY WITH A SENSE OF HUMOR...........We spent 4 days in Park City.....and I fell in love with it. I'll show you a few of the pics I took of the Main Street and the surrounding residential area.  All of the buildings are of this feel.......as well as ALL of the housing.    THE  HOUSES ARE PAINTED EVERY COLOR OF THE RAINBOW......... AND A LOT OF THEM ARE RESTORED OLD MINERS COTTAGES. THE ONES ABOVE ARE LOCATED RIGHT ABOVE MAIN STREET......YOU MUST UNDERSTAND....THIS IS AN OLD MINING TOWN AND IS BUILT RIGHT INTO THE MOUNTAINS AS MANY MINING TOWNS ARE. YOU CAN SEE HOW GREEN THE SURROUNDING AREA IS AND OF COURSE THE MAGNIFICENT SKI SLOPES FOR WINTER SKIERS. ON THE WAY INTO TOWN IS THIS LITTLE BEAUTY........ NOW CAN YOU UNDERSTAND WHY YOU COULD LEAVE YOUR HEART HERE........ I THINK THIS LITTLE TOWN HAS THIS PHILOSOPHY........ FILL WHAT'S EMPTY......EMPTY WHAT'S FULL........ AND SCRATCH WHER

OH LAUNDRY DAY...................

I'm taking a little break from posting about my little cross country adventure and joining   My French Country Home    to post about a fabulous give-away she is having.  We are supposed to come up with a little story about the laundry on the line in order to be entered.............so here goes. My name is Collette......I am a laundress and I spend all of the lovely days of my life working here......................... Oh.....I know it looks lovely......but do not be deceived.  My petite hands are in suds and hot....hot.....water from morning to night.  The little atelier I work in is most inhospitable. After hanging the mademoiselles sheets and chemises on the line.........and putting up with all the whistles and remarks from the nearby ouvriers I am completely undone!!!   Anyway....I diverge with my story..........Today, after all the laundry was dry......I went outside to retrieve my days work.  Taking down one piece at a time and neatly folding it into mademoiselles
