AN UNCONVENTIONAL CHRISTMAS SPRAY.....................................

Anyone who know me realizes that I use unusual things in my decorating and design.  I went to my local Trader Joe's yesterday and was looking at the wonderful pine boughs that were shaped into Christmas sprays.  They were really inexpensive and I almost brought one home...but I resisted. So this morning when I woke up I decided to make my own from whatever was growing and blooming in my garden at the moment. We don't really have any pine trees when I live...but I do have lots and lots of lavender and rosemary growing in my yard and gardens.   Went out and cut a bunch and tied it together with some very old Christmas pinecones I had on hand.  Put a pretty bow on the thing and attached it to my garden gate.   Today the wind is blowing here in AZ so you really cannot get the full effect of all the "sparkle" but it is sort of sparkly.  (O:   The aroma is really heavenly as you open and close the gate and I read somewhere that you shoul...

GIFTS FROM THE HEART..............

Personally, I love receiving home made gifts....I believe it really shows someone's caring...So, this year I have made altered bottles for my very dearest friends. This one is for one of my oldest friends....Jan.....she is also my traveling partner....along with her wonderful husband Jeff. Used an old bottle I found in Montana...with various pieces of embellishment.  Please notice the picture...of the peacock...my friend LOVES, LOVES, LOVES birds...in fact she has geese as pets...LOL LOL...so I thought this would be right up her alley. I know she would have a peacock if she could coax one to stay in her yard. (O:(O: The next  bottle is for my friend, Shirley.   She and her husband Tom are very religious and involved deeply in their church...so I thought this would be appropriate. The front.... The back.. This was made with an old vinegar bottle I had saved because I loved the shape....topped with an old door knob...and emb...

SPARKLE...FARKLE.....AND OTHER SHINEY THINGS

For those of us who grew up with SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE on the television...the above title should certainly bring back memories and a chuckle or two. Remember the Farkle family...Fred Farkle..Fanny Farkle..Fritz Farkle (i think) and SPARKLE FARKLE.....Each time I get out all my sparkly Christmas decorations...this show comes to mind...I know...how weird is that!  Anyway....have been busy sprucing up the house for the holidays. Don't buy any new decorations anymore....at my age...I just want to dispose of things.  So...I get out old favorites and reuse and redo them in various ways.  ALTHOUGH....if I keep taking things apart...I just might need to get a few new things to last for Christmases to come. I've had this big Snowman for years...won it as a giveaway from Laurie Ann's Vintage home...thought he needed a little color since he is all white....so added some red things...and he fits right in. Had this old wire ribbon from last year...and sim...

DO THESE SCREAM FALL....OR WHAT???..........

Received these from my friend Jean.....up in Montana.....pretty interesting aren't they.  BTW.....shots from Dallas Arboretum ...... hugs, Jo

WOMEN IN RED..........BEEZOO.....TO ALL OF YOU.......

RED is the most popular of all the colors.....especially for women.  However, it is a very assertive color, therefore making it one of the least popular for making garments. What do you think when you see a woman dressed in red?  I, for one, always look....and love seeing a beautiful woman in red.  It is said that human metabolism rises when red in viewed. It is associated with passion, energy, courage, vividness, leadership, celebration and good cheer. Whatever kind of energy a red dress conveys....it ALWAYS says look at me.....here I am.....YOU cannot ignore me! Have a wonderful Valentine's Day sweet friends.....go put on that red dress and strut your stuff!!  LOL LOL LOL Beezoo..smooches...to all. Jo p.s. I hope that French term is correctly used....(O:(O: Photos courtesy Blue Lantern Studio

A FEW CHRISTMAS SHOTS AROUND THE HOUSE...........

We all love looking at Christmas houses during this festive season.  Here are a few shots around ours..... Please pay no attention to the lady in the housecoat reflected in the mirror.  (O: HOPEFULLY YOU HAVE ENJOYED THESE FEW LITTLE PHOTOS. Have a wonderful day, Jo

FIND A QUIET CORNER..........

I don't know about you....but during the holidays I seem to be particularly stressed and sometimes bordering on being a little blue. Usually....when that happens I try to find some inspiring little something to come to my aid.  Happened across this wonderful little publication...it is perfect for this time of year. With chapter's such as "CARING ABOUT AND FOR YOURSELF".... "SCHEDULE A MEETING WITH YOURSELF"...."SPENDING/SAVING TIME"....."BEAUTY"....it seemed to be the perfect balm for a harried and hurried season. I do think that holidays are almost ALL women's work and adding this to a woman's already busy schedule leaves many of us with very little time to care for ourselves. So please....... Find A QUIET CORNER IN YOUR BUSY DAY....just for yourself to take care of yourself. Hugs from here, Jo
