AND here IS a good ghost/horror

When Halloween comes around....not many people consider this story....but I do....a story about an Opera Ghost....The great is that.  This opera has breathtaking music, the costumes luscious and the performers ~~ superb.
This performance took place at the Royal Albert Hall in England.

I have seen this many times over the years....but by far the most memorable was in New York City many years ago when it was on Broadway, or maybe off-Broadway, I can't recall.  I saw it at a little theater called the Winter Garden....
don't even know if that theatre is still there. the opening scene when that chandelier came down with that pounding organ music in the background...

It literally made my ribcage vibrate....and took my breath away!!!

I think this opera will be 26 years old this year...and it is still as popular today as when it first appeared on Broadway.

Here are some great shots of Christine and the Phantom doing their love duet...

This gentleman was a "very sexy" Phantom just in the way he moved across the stage.

Here he is when he carries Christine down to the bowels of the Theatre....and sings his songs of love to her...

Another shot of him attempting to seduce her through song.....

Another one of my favorites is the Masquerade scene.....

All of you who have seen this performed
know how the music just stays in your head forever....and if you have not seen it or your children and grandchildren have not seen it....please treat them to this wonderful opera.  It can be rented on Net Flix if unavailable in a live theatre near you.....

So in honor of Halloween and this wonderful opera I would like to share with you My rendition of my Phantom Masquerade Mask......

Used an old rug beater as the base.

This is my old paint towel....can you tell? (O: is how mine turned out.

I've hung it up just outside my it can inspire me from time to the way.....the blue cards are fortune telling cards......more on that with the next post.

I want to thank all of you who have made such wonderful comments and sent such encouraging emails as a result of my last post.

I guess I really did not realize how many wonderful friends I have made through the years......

Anyway.....we will be home in AZ soon...and it will be so much easier for me to answer emails.  Emailing while traveling is so very complicated....and you all know what a TECHNOSLUG ......I am.  LOL LOL LOL

After reading all of your responses,  I have come to realize that I have let a few negative people drive my decision....sometimes that is easy to do in this complicated world of ours.

Therefore, I plan on continuing my blog and refuse to let a few negative people affect me to such an extent....but probably will be "pulling the shade down for a while" one of you beautiful ladies suggested.  I still will be visiting blogs but probably will be putting my posting on the back burner for a bit.

Once again, ALL OF YOU are the very best!!

Picture:  Not mine.....from somewhere on the internet....can't remember where

Yes....October 3rd is the day I was  born.  Was born in Germany.....right after the my father was stationed there.

Came to the states when I was around 3 or 4 years old...and have never returned to Germany...although I would like to someday.

You know it is interesting.....I don't feel 66...oh I have a few aches and pains...but in my head I'm still the youthful woman who looked forward to a life full of promise and adventure.....and I am so very grateful that that wish has been fulfilled.
O.K. enough about my birthday....let's see a few photos of where we have been.

These shots were taken along the road through Wyoming heading down to Colorado.

Stayed in Fort Collins Colorado for a few days.  It is home to Colorado State University and while driving through the University spotted this spectacular sight.

Can you believe this feast for the eyes.

Here are a few close shots....

I will tell you....that field of flowers just took my breath away.

After Colorado...down to Southwestern Kansas to visit my beautiful Aunt Ruth and my cousins and their wonderful families.....

I know I said I was done with my birthday...but wanted to show you the wonderful keepsake she gave me before we left.

This belonged to my Great Grandmother Rumford (b) 1/24/1876 (d) 5/12/ which time it was given to my Grandmother Maupin (b)11/24/1901 (d) in you can see how old this vase is.  I was so very touched that she would give this to me as I know it had a special meaning to her.   It actually is something that would of caught my eye if I were purchasing it for myself......ahhhh....."the apple does not fall far from the tree" they say.

I know this is a long post...but have not been able to get on the computer for quite some time.  Headed to Texas hill country to spend my birthday week......heck.....I think I just might celebrate my birthday ALL MONTH!!

Thanks to all who are following along.....I will visit when I can while traveling.
