FINDING SILENCE WITHIN....................................

I have spent most of my adult life trying to find silence within....that calmness we all seek...free from anxiety and worry.  This 71st year of my life I am going to focus on just that!   It seems as though I am not alone in this endeavor as yogis and meditators seem to lurking around every corner in social media.  I know this is certainly not a new situation in our society....in fact it has been around since the beginning of man only their anxiety came from a different source...(not getting eaten alive by predators);  although some would say that situation exists today, as well.  :) Each one of us approaches this area of our life in our own way, for me it is starting a yoga class.   Over the years I have neglected my self care always focusing on my husband, worrying about my adult children or fussing with my home.  This year is going to be a year of self care and hopefully I will continue this for the remainder of my l...

OUR CHRISTMAS AT NIGHT....................................

My favorite time during the holidays is at night.  Sitting in a dark room with the tree lights on is always so calming. Enjoy........... hugs, Jo

A RATHER STRANGE CONFESSION...................................

I have been very fortunate and have done many, many wonderful things during my lifetime.  Yet, I find, there are still a few things I yearn to do.  One of these was to take an OUTDOOR SHOWER.  My current home is certainly not plumbed for such a thing..so this summer I went looking online. Found this at World Market.  So I knew it would work for me and I could even take it to our new home when we move. It hooks up to the outside hose bib...and since the water temperature in AZ is ALWAYS HOT coming out of the faucet here in the summer...at least at my house it is...I knew it was my solution. We have used it all summer long before and after getting out of the pool....and I have been able to sneak out late at night and take a little rinse off under the stars. (O:(O:(O: The is something so uninhibited about being able to shower outdoors surrounded by nature (BTW I do live in the city).   I have a table with my coffee cu...

AHHHHHH THE WEEKEND................

I don't know about you.....but the weekends have ALWAYS been special to me....whether working or not....the whole atmosphere in my surroundings seems to change. Beautiful music playing......flowers from my garden......and softly lit candles seem to set an atmosphere that just says RELAX. Don't know whether we will take in a movie or go to the farmer's market in Carefree...but we will leave that decision for later. In the meantime I'm going to pull up a favorite chair in my favorite corner and have myself a little cup of tea.....and simply BE....... Have a wonderful weekend dear friends. hugs, Jo

FOR THE LOVE OF A GOOD BOOK............

During part of the summer... I live in a very SMALL town in Northwest Montana.  Simple pleasures are a must here. Sailing on the lake ....... buying yourself beautiful flowers .... reading a great book,  you get the picture. Which brings me to the point of this post...I'm sure all of you know about all the Borders Stores that are closing.  Well.....ours in a little town north of us is one of the ones closing.  I'm so sad over this.... I was there yesterday with a multitude of other people picking up things that were being marked down 50 to 75 percent. Don't get me wrong, I love a bargain as much as anyone...but I would have much preferred not getting any bargain and having Borders REMAIN OPEN. With the Kindle, Nook, I-Pad, etc...I am truly afraid books will be put on the shelf along with the typewriter and rotary dial phone...just to name a few of the things that are now obsolete in this world of ours. I love being able to hold a book, mark the p...
