My Grama's Soul

Because of the gypsy lifestyle I lead....it seems as though we are always a little out of sync with the seasons....not to mention the fact that it is always WARM in Arizona.   I'm looking for summer flowers while the rest of the county is settling in for wonderful fall weather followed by the wonderland of winter. Sooooooo......since I live in perpetual sunshine half of the year I can incorporate vivid warm colors in my surroundings at anytime of the year.   I spent today adding some of my sweet finds of the summer into our little nest here in AZ. Picked up the lantern in Texas and the rug is from Anthropologie. Found this Flapper hat in a little shop in Oregon....thought it would be perfect for my Buddha.   Put an old crown on my Santo's statue.....I often change her hat....but this will do for now. I generally don't blog about "stuff" per say....but I just had to show you this marvelous altered art piece by a local Montana artist.  She goes by the name of "Big Jessie" and she lives in Whitefish.  I have always loved altered art....because you literally make something out of nothing.  Jessie has such a way of doing this.  I have showed another one of her pieces in an older post...but I wanted to give this one special attention.  Her name is Jess Rosier and you can find her on the NET......you won't be disappointed. I hope I have not mislead you to believe that I am so busy smelling the flowers....that I never shop along the way. I occasionally run into something that speaks to me and when that happens...if I can find a spot to store it and if it is reasonably priced...I'll simply take it on a ride with us until we return home. Case in point....these wonderful Chinese lanterns I have been seeing everywhere.  I would not find these in my home state of AZ...so when I found them in a little store called FIREFLY I knew they had to come home with me. They fold up like an accordion so it is no problem storing them for the time being. I also purchased the little quilt above.  It is called a JOGI RALLY QUILT.  It means Small Patches, and was handmade by a small group of artisans in India.  I love the color and the design.
