HERE'S THE THING........................

O.K. people.....here's the thing....We are all in this together, so do something wonderful for yourself.  Please bring something beautiful into your home.  You deserve it, your emotions deserve it, your family deserves it, and your space deserves it. If you lucky enough to have a yard....go out and whack on some bushes and bring some greenery inside.  I've  done this here with  trees and bushes that are flowering at the moment.  I can't go the grocery store and buy fresh flowers because of our stay at home mindset right now..but I can raid my yard.  Things in pots count too....go cut off some stems of greens and put them in a little vase inside.  You would be amazed at what this little bit of effort does to your immediate space. One can only image how long this "sheltering in place" will be in effect but don't let this bump in our society let you lose your long term goal of living and having a ...

THE HEALING AND HOPING SEASON............................

Life keeps moving on at it's normal pace....... with events happening that are totally out of our control, but one thing we can control is how we take care of ourselves..which is needed especially during difficult times. I am a  big fan of organic and natural skin care, and since good cosmetics have become so very expensive I often come across something I can make myself that I believe has a wonderful effect on one's skin. This skincare recipe is from the above publication.  I had not seen it before so I picked up a  copy to see how I could incorporate some of these items in my personal care. It is such a simple concoction and so very easy to make.   3/4 cup chopped cucumber..no need to peel 1/4 cup liquid coconut oil...I personally use organic 1 cup white sugar Basil leaves as much as you like .. mine are from my garden out back I chopped cucumber and basil.   Put them into my blender, added the sugar, then the coconut...

"OZ GAVE NOTHING TO THE TIN MAN........THAT THE TIN MAN... DIDN'T ALREADY HAVE"..............................................

Not many posts from here as of late.....it seems as though life just keeps on happening with its own series of events beyond our control.  My daughter, Shannon, has moved in with us after her brother's death.....she lived next door to him when he died.   It has been a little tough on all of us but especially her... With her being here we have finally caught up on all the neglected doctor visits and tests she should have had.  It seems that there could be a serious problem with her lungs...don't know yet...but will find out soon.   Today, as I'm sitting in the imaging office I began thinking of the WIZARD OF OZ....of all things.  It is one of my all time favorite movies....I loved all the characters and always thought I related to brave Dorothy.  However, with what has been going on with our lives recently I think I relate to the TIN MAN most of all.  All he wanted was a heart.....I've always had a heart....but didn't realize how ...

"THE UNTETHERED SOUL"..........................................................

I don't recommend many books on my blog, although I am a voracious reader. This is one book that I felt should be shared with all of you in blog land. THE UNTETHERED SOUL.....by Michael A Singer...this small book  takes you right to the heart of mindfulness and the yoga of the mind.   Because our world is getting more complicated all the time and all of us just trying to cope with this;  I feel each of us  is searching for that place inside where peace and calm resides.   We aren't looking for a temporary fix....but a permanent solution.  The message delivered in this book can provide that if you are just willing to open your heart to the wisdom that is shared here. Managing our thoughts is difficult in the best of times...but by attempting to put some of the ideas into practice as explained here each of us will be building mental muscle that will carry us for a lifetime. It is a simple read and right to the point. I th...

THOUGHT FOR THURSDAY...........................................

Found this somewhere on Tumbler...thought it was the best! have a great day, Jo

I'VE DECIDED TO NAME MY CHRISTMAS TREE THIS YEAR.........

meet Monique see her jaunty "little hat with the feather" Well....the tree is finally up and lit.  Usually we have the tree up right after Thanksgiving, but this year we wanted a MUCH SMALLER tree so we had to find one.  We visited our usual spots and could not fine a "small" one to save our soul...so we went online.   Found this little gem at Treetopia.   She was so inexpensive....(OOPS what is that 2 doing in my pic)  LOL.  Easy to put together and only five feet tall.  Our old trees weighed a ton and we had such a time just getting them up and standing. We have tons of decorations....everything from birds to balls that look like glowing moons. And...I love it so when tree is just dripping with ornaments...don't you? Have some Santa's and some angels....a little bit of everything that that has blessed our trees over the years. In fact....the truth is.....we actually love a smaller tree.  So muc...

LIVING A BEAUTIFUL LIFE.............................

Do you know anyone who is absolutely UNABLE TO LIVE A BEAUTIFUL LIFE?  Unfortunately, I do. It is one of the saddest things I have ever seen.  I have often wondered why some people are able to see beauty everywhere and make something out of nothing and others can't see past the end of their nose.  This certainly is not a criticism it is just an observation. I don't think it is matter of your childhood environment or a case of having money or not.  I know plenty of people who had less than stellar childhoods and  who barely have two pennies to rub together and they still THRIVE on beauty.   I know I had a extremely difficult childhood and I was never TAUGHT to make MY LIFE BEAUTIFUL.  Somehow along the way I picked it up...and I have lived in some pretty dismal places during my lifetime.  Yet...I have always made them beautiful in their own way with whatever I had on hand. Using something in a new way to sp...

A RATHER STRANGE CONFESSION...................................

I have been very fortunate and have done many, many wonderful things during my lifetime.  Yet, I find, there are still a few things I yearn to do.  One of these was to take an OUTDOOR SHOWER.  My current home is certainly not plumbed for such a thing..so this summer I went looking online. Found this at World Market.  So I knew it would work for me and I could even take it to our new home when we move. It hooks up to the outside hose bib...and since the water temperature in AZ is ALWAYS HOT coming out of the faucet here in the summer...at least at my house it is...I knew it was my solution. We have used it all summer long before and after getting out of the pool....and I have been able to sneak out late at night and take a little rinse off under the stars. (O:(O:(O: The is something so uninhibited about being able to shower outdoors surrounded by nature (BTW I do live in the city).   I have a table with my coffee cu...
