I have always considered myself a SPIRITUAL PERSON
not necessarily RELIGIOUS but quite SPIRITUAL
as I have gotten older...it has even become more important for me to work on this side of myself....it is almost as though one has to slow down enough and be still enough to let this happen..at least that is how it has been for me.
this is the conclusion I have come to....no matter what your belief...
ALL religions have one thing in common....and that is the belief in a SUPREME BEING.....it really does not matter what he or she is called....
I just think it is important to believe in something greater than yourself...
i think if we do not do this our EGOS run rampant and very little can be given to your fellow man.
Whether you are a follower of one religion or take a b-b-gun sort of approach....matters not.....
it is the fact that you have found your center.....your SOUL SPACE your brahman that matters.
C. S. Lewis said "You don't have a soul. You ARE a soul. You have a body."
Each new friend made, each kind word said or deed done
enriches one's soul. Thanks to all of you for being my friend.
hugs,
Jo
P.S. as an aside a friend of mine walked into my house and notice all my religious artifacts....she admired them...then said "Jo, you may not know where you are going once you die....but it is for sure you are going somewhere." I laughed my head off at that comment.
Beautiful post Jo, and I love all of your religious treasures... I am a very spiritual person, and my beliefs guide me through each and every day of my life... love to you... xoxo Julie Marie

This was such a wonderful post. As I've grown older, I've begun to feel much the same as you. I think that's why it has been so stressful on me having to work. I want this time to slow down and revisit my spirituality.

I have a card with Ganesh in my wallet to help me with issues. If I had enough room in my wee house, I would have an altar, too!
ReplyDeleteHi Josette,
ReplyDeleteI really loved your post. I am a Spiritual person too and believe in doing good for others. If you read my post for today we were almost on the same spiritual wave link.
Hugs and love all your religious items.
Happy New Year, Jo!
ReplyDeleteI'm still crawling out
from under the flu, but
am finally able to catch
up on e-mails and blogs.
I so loved reading about
your sweet mother, your
intentions for the coming
year and your reflections on
soul space. My daughter's
high school class is reading
CS Lewis for Moral Theology
and I am itching to get my
hands on it. The book in the
first picture also looks very
intriguing. I think as we
embark on a new year, introspection
is a natural and very pleasant
thing. It's keeping at it all
year that is challenging. Thank
you for all of the beauty that
you add to my world. Sending
you wishes for a wonderful 2011!
xx Suzanne

ReplyDeletei find myself a little offended if someone calls me
ReplyDeletereligious but consider myself spiritual, too.
may you find even more of His greatness this year!
thank you for making our blog visits so beautiful.
Because in the final analysis, all the arguments over religions that ended up in war will be put to shame. But those who have loved and who knew the SOURCE of love will be recognized as CHILDREN OF GOD....beautiful post dearest. Anita

I like that quote by CS Lewis. All his books are excellent and eye-opening. "Mere Christianity" is one I'd highly recommend for anyone searching for the truth.
