"Nobody sees a flower~really~it is so small it takes time~~and we haven't time~~and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time."
Georgia O'Keefe
Does one choose a friend by closeness in proximity?
Does one choose a friend by how old they are?
Does one choose a friend by how much money they make?
Does one choose a friend by their status in society?
Does one choose a friend by their occupation?
Does one choose a friend by how they look?
I probably could go on endlessly with my list.
I think one chooses a friend by their HEART.
Today.....I made a new friend with a huge heart!!
~~~~~~
My path crossed with a good soul today
We cemented a friendship by going out of our way
The universe seems to send us just what we need
If we keep our hearts open and pay it some heed
The die is cast.......
Our paths will blend
Now matter how diverse they may be in the end
My Path crossed with a good soul today
My life just expanded in a wonderful way.
Thank you Vicki for today....it was wonderful.
Big hugs,
Jo
Will post more pics of our outing in a few days....and send you to this wonderful lady's blog
Hi Jo... you are right, you choose your friends with your heart... Jack always says I rule my life by my emotions... he is right, I shall take that as a compliment... so happy you made a new friend "from the heart"... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteA lovely post - one worth printing. I choose my friends by common interests shared. Sometimes a friend chooses me for whatever reason and that's always a treat.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post. Distance matters not when friendship comes from the heart, and I've made plenty of friends here. I treasure all of you.
Finding those true friends is one of life's greatest joys.
ReplyDeleteI think really good friends just happen. Strange, I have found it easier to make friends here in France when sometimes due to my bad French I cannot even talk to them with out difficulty. The smallest problem and they are there for me though. Diane
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, Jo! I'm so happy you made a new friend. People come and go but friends stay forever.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I've never really thought about in this way but I've always felt that friends are chosen by God for the two to teach each other something. I've learned many things from my blog friends also.
ReplyDeleteI choose my friends by their heart too:) I keep an open heart myself and have the most amazing friends:) Love your post today.
Congratulations on your new friendship. Yes, I choose my friend by the heart. God blesses us with kindred spirits.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you friend!
A true friend is a treasure. Lovely post. Isn't is wonderful to meet a new friend and you just "click"?
ReplyDeleteFriendship is on my mind as relationships shift after my retirement. Some friendships are situation based, like work friendships. I know they are gone. Others are life stage specific--young adults, other moms, moms of kids with special needs, moms of adopted kids, new grandmas, etc. They come and go. The ones that don't last forever are no less valuable because of that. Each one is a gift. And then there are the forever friendships, the treasures of our lives.
ReplyDeleteI think, our friends choose us.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Thank you.
So happy you made a new friend. Absolutely wonderful.
Isn't it amazing how well the universe weaves the miracle of bringing people together. You'll always be my friend of the heart Jo, I can't wait to spend time together again..and I know we will... God is smiling:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Post... I have found that if you show yourself to be genuinely Friendly people naturally respond. But to actually BE a Friend takes time & investment in the people you want relationship with... it has to be more than just superficial. I have made many acquaintances, my Friends are the ones who have proven themselves to be as invested in us as we are in them & they become extended Family as they enter into our inner circle of relationships. I am truly Blessed to have the most amazing Friends & it is one of the greatest Joys in Life to connect on that level with other people.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my Velvet Pumpkin Post... I just fell in Love with that Glam Bohemian Goose even though usually Taxidermy doesn't appeal to me at all... if I could afford her I would have adopted her. *winks*
ReplyDeleteThat Jake is like a favorite pair of old jeans, worn in just the right places...or perhaps a comfortable pair of shoes that seems to go with everything.
I'm glad you met her. It was fun, wasn't it??!!
Lovely post.
ReplyDeleteI think the best of friendships happen when we are just living our life. In the process we begin to share something with another caring human being. Before you know it . . . you realize that the best way to describe the new person in your life is by the word of friend.
A lovely post.
ReplyDeleteYou live life, you meet people,share an experience, bond and then you have a name for that person . . . FRIEND.
