By now, most of you know my love of the French....they have exquisite taste and style.
I've been cleaning out my library and came across this little gem so I thought I would scan some photos of the beautiful apartments featured in this little treasure
We know the French love ornamentation and this apartment is a prime example of that.
They love simplicity as well, the French are truly a contradiction of style.
Here you have a riot of color....
and here you have an oasis for meditation. You see......a true contradiction.
Here is a lovely French kitchen, it is probably in on of the villages outside of Paris, as most Paris apartments a relative small, unless you are very wealthy and can afford one of the grander ones.
Can you see where the door frame is in this picture. That will tell you how truly tiny the apartments are.
When we visited France a few years ago we were able to meet some friends who were living there in one of the old ornate apartments overlooking the Seine, it was a tiny affair with a small salon and an alcove for a bedroom that was closed off by drawing heavy velvet curtains.
The kitchen was a galley kitchen and the bath was very small as well; but very charming, none the less.
Also, the stairs and lifts to get to the 2nd or 3rd floor are very tiny.
How do you think this guy managed this???
Bientot dear friends
Jo
