I know.....I said I would post abut my ancestors next; but when I started digging around, I could not believe how much info there was and I have to figure out a way to condense it.
THAT will take some time, my friends.
SO........I decided to post about something I DO KNOW something about -- beautiful flowers.
These are photos of our Iris from my garden. I sooooo... love the big purple bearded Iris.
In Arizona, they require little care and seem to bloom profusely.
This morning my sweet husband came in to admire this beautiful flower after I had picked it from my garden.
This is what he said to me in his wisdom; "YOU KNOW HONEY, THERE HAS TO BE A GOD. NO HUMAN BEING COULD MAKE SOMETHING THIS UNIQUE AND SPECIAL".
With that said, let's all of us have a beautiful day!
Blessings dear friends.
Jo
Hello Jo, your husband is sooo right, I always feel so much closer to God when I am surrounded by all of the beauty of Nature, and all God's precious creatures too... your Iris are beautiful... my mama always grew them, (as do I), and she always called them "Flags" so I have kept that as well... can't wait to read about your ancestors... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteWow....just beautiful Jo! When they need to be divided, I get some!!!!! :) Love you! Sandy
ReplyDeleteI love irises too. When I got married (20 years ago on Wednesday) my bouquet was mostly made of purple irises. Yours look lovely. I need to get some purple ones. Mine aren't quite blooming yet. I agree with your husband too. How else could all that beauty be out there?
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, old fashioned Iris! I want to have them again. :-)

Iris are my favorite. My parents owned a home and garden shop when I was growing up, and smelling and looking at ALL the different iris was heaven to me!
ReplyDeleteWhere do I store all the stuff I buy....everywhere. Sometimes it is embarrassing. Right now it is about as bad as it gets. Once I get into the show session, it should get better. xo Joan@anythinggoeshere
Dearest Jo,
ReplyDeleteYour husband is so right; how can we even imagine that all this beauty and perfect harmony could have been an accident? And yet, the mystery of the universe will always be a mystery in this life but one day....whoah! WE ARE GONNA KNOW AND SEE IT ALL SO CLEARLY! Thank you dear lady, for coming by and leaving such a dear, sweet word. I just want to spread some beauty and hope and joy and fun in the world.
Come by anytime for a cup of tea, a dream or two or a tour to Paris.
Fondly, Anita
Hi Jo,

Different shades of purple...my favorite when it comes to flowers.
ReplyDeleteAnd you have a wise and wonderful husband!
Blessings,
Cindy
Oh my Jo what a blessing this post is and your husband too. Does he have a brother that is single. hahaha
ReplyDeleteI really do love coming by here because your site is just beautiful.
So wish you lived near me so you could help me make my yard pretty. In town I had all kinds of pretty beds out here in the country my tin roof is very steep and the water runs off of it straight into the flower beds and drowns anything near it. There are even gutters up but to straight of a roof I guess to stop the water flow. I sure need to figure it out because I love flowers... also the house is on a hill and when I put hanging baskets out they fly to the next county..lol
Sorry did not mean to tell you all my woes about my garden life..
Just came by to say thank you for being so kind to me with your post but honey it is ditto...I love your site.
Maggie
Irises are one of my favorites. Mine are a weird mix of purple, brown, copper, yellow all together. Really tall and really unusual.
ReplyDeleteSuch a smart man:) Our Irises will be coming up soon too. I love their purple color. Enjoy!
