Allright, I must admit that I am a woman of a certain age. I still like to buy fashion magazines only my choices have gone from GLAMOUR to MORE. You know, the magazine for women over 40 and counting!
Anyway, to the point - this is the most recent edition and a picture of their front cover....
Now I ask you--do you want to reinvent yourself??
I don't.
It has taken me 63 years to grow into my skin and I would not change one hair follicle.
I love the fact that I am an empty nester and free to travel with "Mr. Wonderful".
I love the fact that I LOVE to garden and live in a state that allows me to do just that.
I love it that I am a little creative and can take the time to enjoy all the creativity around me whether it be a live exhibit or on the net.
I love the fact I have a 6 year old grandson who is the apple of my eye.
And I especially love the fact that I am healthy enough to tool around the neighborhood on my cool "cruiser bike". I am truly blessed and I am grateful for every second of it!!
So, why would I want to reinvent myself?? Do You?

Oh Jo, you are beautiful! And you and your Mr. Wonderful look sooo very happy... I don't even buy those magazines that want you to "reinvent or change" youself! I love that YOU are YOU! (no one else could possibly be YOU!)... look at all the fantastic things you have in your life... I don't like change... I hang onto everything... especially my memories! And I love to share them and also hear others memories... All over blogland I see women changing everything in their lives, their homes, the colors they use, I have posted about how I don't follow the trends or whats in or out... it is so refreshing to read your post and see how happy you are being yourself... ReplyDeleteIt's been much too long since I have been over here. I love dressing up still, everday I walk into my closet and ask myself, "Who am I going to be today?" Apparently, one day I asked it out loud, as my husband answered, "I don't know, but I sure wish you would decide, just when I think I figured out who I was married to, you go and turn into someone else!"
ReplyDeleteAnd how I loved your pretty dishes and buttons and everything else. So pretty, I think I am addicted to looking at everyone's pretty collections.
I do know that my husband has the most beautiful hazel eyes.
But I loved seeing who you are, and appreciate your confidence with who you are and loved your pictures. It looks like you are having a blast traveling, spending time with your hubby. Gardening. Your garden is beautiful, and I love both of your methods of travel. What a sweet grandson! So cute.
It strikes me as you just might be a yellow person. So bright and cheery!!!

ReplyDeleteNow.... Please share with us, your secrets for being so perfectly shaped, at your age. I've got nearly 10 years on you, and I do have some parts of me, to "reinvent." Not that I really think that is possible.

I often say I wouldn't go back to the younger years for anything. I have worked hard to get to be the confident strong woman I am today.

Great post~ You are right, it takes a long time, sometimes, to come into your own...Even if that means tweaking things here and that until it feels right...It has taken me a long time to accept my unique, often times quirky self...I couldn't imagine being someone totally different.
