I am happy to be participating in this week's vintage thingy Thursday hosted by The Colorado Lady @

This week I have chosen to show an old vintage french hutch with ghost glass inserts that I purchased at a little shop in Phoenix, called Paris Envy. I don't know how old it is, but it has all the original hardware and the shop owner found it at an estate sale - so I assume it is fairly old. I believe in decorating EVERYTHING FOR CHRISTMAS - AND I MEAN EVERYTHING!! So i decided I would hang my stockings from the pulls on the front, since my fireplace is stone with no mantle. It works -- and the hutch is so shiny with the ghost mirrors that I thought it was the perfect place. AFTER-ALL CHRISTMAS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ALL SPARKLY - DON'T YOU THINK???
(Sorry for the change in font size - I don't have a clue how that happened)
Best wishes to all of you on this lovely morning and happy VTT,
That's an interesting hutch. I never heard of ghost glass before.

That is one gorgeous hutch! I've never heard of ghost glass before, but I'm guessing it refers to the mirrors? I love mirrors that look like that. I also love that lamp on top, and the little peak at that shelf in the next room. Your home is lovely!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT!

Beautiful hutch! Is ghost glass the kind of glass that looks like it has melted?

How lovely to live with and pass by every day such a wonderful scene! It's perfectly charming, with all its secrets and stories to tell, and the great dome atop could have graced an enormous tree at a czar's palace, or at least the tree at Rockefeller Center.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for dropping in at LAWN TEA!!

I love the hutch! Have never heard of ghost glass. I'm going to have to google that as it has me curious. I see so many antiques I would love to have but I just don't have the room. We just took a piece to the booth at the flea market that I would have given anything to keep. Oh well, someone is enjoying it right now. Thank you so much for following junkblossoms! Please visit often and leave any comments you'd like. I enjoy reading them so much! Have a great Christmas Season. Blessings, Pat
