Do you have ungrateful people in your life? I know I do. Some of them are more in my life than I desire...but I do try to weed them out as I can.
It does seem that a sense of entitlement goes hand in hand with a lack of gratitude. I believe we American's as a whole believe we deserve the PERFECT life....since we believe we live in the perfect society...or so we are told in every way possible. There has never been the perfect life.....nor will there ever be.
Life is difficult at best and at other times it seems as though events are insurmountable...as the recent Boston Marathon can attest to. Our country is one of the few in the world who don't have to live every day with a constant threat of danger.....I MEAN CONSTANT....examine Israel....for just a small example
So...on this day.....after yet another tragedy.....I vow to up my gratitude quotient....by focusing entirely on what I have instead of what I don't have. Appreciate every day as it comes...no matter...good or bad....I learn from both.
Always saying a silent prayer to God how grateful I am for EVERYTHING!!!
hugs,
Jo
Timely post. I've been struggling for the last couple of weeks with some family members that I consider ungrateful. I am trying so hard to let it go.
ReplyDeleteIndeed. No matter how rugged things might be, we can be grateful they aren't more so and for all the little things -- a breath of spring, a purring cat, the sunshine after winter.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post Jo, just what I needed today, a lil kick in the pants! Yes, I have a couple of very ungrateful people in my immediate life, I too forget how truly blessed I am some days! I do thank God for the life I have, and the freedoms we are provided, for my blog soul sisters too! Have a wonderful evening, Fairy Blessings, Always, Christel
ReplyDeleteA very timely and important reminder! I have head from so many friends who were not born in this country how amazed they are that we don't always treasure what we have here -- as imperfect as life may be at times.
ReplyDeleteI started some time ago, to surround myself with positive loving people. Negativity and people that dont make us happy pull one down.
ReplyDeleteI so agree Jo. dont let anything get us down. It is true, there are countries in the world that suffer greater heartache.
Thank god every day for the little things he sends our way.
Here, the sun has been shining for 3 full days. Its beautiful.. some of my roses are starting to bloom.
wishing you a wonderful Tuesday..with love

I know I have many ungrateful people in my life and then there are some that are grateful but just don't know how to show it. Don't be afraid to speak up, it's not being less of a person or admitting that you or your life isn't perfect. Be graciously grateful and show it!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I am grateful to you for this wonderful reminder post.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Always, Queenie
My parents taught us to be grateful for everything and I, in turn, taught that to my children. I am grateful that there have been very few people in my life that do not show gratitude. Of course, I am of another generation and I don't think that quality exists as much today with the entitlement society of today.
ReplyDeleteI have the occasional ungrateful person in my life but luckily not too many. I weed them out too if possible. But I also know that I've been ungrateful to people from time to time in my life or taken them for granted. I'd like a "redo" on some things but life marches on, doesn't it, and we can't go back.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post.......so needed
ReplyDeleteYes! I have managed to weed out most of the ungrateful people in my life and I am better for doing so.
ReplyDeleteThe prayer that leaves me lips most often is a simple
ReplyDeleteThank you God. If I'm having a bad day nothing changes that faster than saying Thank you for what I have.
such a beautiful post, I have made the decision to not have negative people around me at the time of great tragedy in my life, it was and is the best thing I have ever done for myself,
ReplyDeleteGreat post Jo...well said...I have been releasing negative & ungrateful people back into society...I have decided life is too short to deal with their selfishness....for that I am grateful....;)
ReplyDeleteAmen to this wise post, dearest Jo...
ReplyDeleteBless you...
Much love and a tight hug,
