I don't know about you....but during the holidays I seem to be particularly stressed and sometimes bordering on being a little blue.
Usually....when that happens I try to find some inspiring little something to come to my aid. Happened across this wonderful little publication...it is perfect for this time of year.
With chapter's such as "CARING ABOUT AND FOR YOURSELF"....
"SCHEDULE A MEETING WITH YOURSELF"...."SPENDING/SAVING TIME"....."BEAUTY"....it seemed to be the perfect balm for a harried and hurried season.
I do think that holidays are almost ALL women's work and adding this to a woman's already busy schedule leaves many of us with very little time to care for ourselves.
So please.......
Find A QUIET CORNER IN YOUR BUSY DAY....just for yourself to take care of yourself.
Hugs from here,
Jo
Hello Jo... I have several little quiet corners in my home where I steal away to and relax and daydream... that book looks perfect for sitting with a cup of tea and reading... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteLovely post and so very important. I do find this season to be all of the above. Blessings...
ReplyDeleteExtra hugs for you today Jo. Please do take a little time for yourself. It is very important so that we will be able to take care of others.

as unbelievable as it might sound, I never really considered that the Holidays really are mostly "on me" The decorating, the cooking, the shopping, the wrapping, scheduling..wow, no wonder I'm always tired!Of course my husband would say..it's on him, he "pays" for the lions share of it all, but as we all know, it takes much more than money to make it all come together. Thanks for this post Jo. I will definitely take some time for me..matter of fact, I'm going to take a hot bath right now! xoxo Christel
ReplyDeleteJo-That is such good advice. I seldom take any time for myself and I need to do that! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYou are very inspiring, Jo! Do you remember where you found the book?
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Thanks Jo. Sounds like a great book. I always take such little time for myself. It's time to start giving myself a little pampering.

A lovely reminder, thank you so much! It is very important to include ones self. I love to sit with my tea and a good book, or my journal. It is time well spent.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, may you have many moments of just plain feeling good within yourself.
Hugs,
Terri
I tend to try to keep busy during the Holidays so as not to deal with "Christmases Past".

I decided some years ago to be a "holiday dropout". I pared down my commitments, said no parties, excessive shopping, etc., and just make it about relaxation and quality time with family. My kids, who are 24 and 22 now, also have the same approach. Our holidays are peaceful and stress-free. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the wonderful book ~ a great reminder for us all!
xx

That sounds like a Great book. I'll have to look it up.
ReplyDeleteIt is easy to get all wound up in the season, and just the general business of life.....BUT
if we want to really LIVE our lives and be at peace with it
We DO need to find that quiet corner.
thanks for the reminder.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Jo.
