LIVING SURROUNDED BY ART YOU MAKE!!!...................................

I am a firm believer in displaying the art you, yourself, make.  It doesn't matter whether it is fabric art, painted art, mosaic art, jewelry art, junk art or any other kind of art you can think of.

By having your personal pieces around you it gives you inspiration to create additional pieces.  It doesn't matter whether the piece is great or mediocre ......

JUST PUT IT OUT THERE SO YOU CAN VIEW IT...

I may have shared these pieces before.....made from old junk wire found in my Father-in-Laws tool box....incorporated long beads I made and other pieces of junk earrings.  Milagro....made totally from recycled material (sounds so much better than......junk.....doesn't it?).

Each time I pass this little display in my home it encourages me to think creatively.....I often can't go to my studio to work then and there....but it does get those "juices" flowing.

How about you.....do you display your creativity around your sweet spot you call home?

  1. Now I know what milagro means, thank you. Your art is gorgeous, I like the heart and the colors you used. My art is my flowers that I grow and the books that I write.

  2. Terra.....Milagro actually means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagro's are healing talismans used by various ethnic groups ...... mainly the Hispanic population.

  4. I've tried to get My Rare One to hang some of her best paintings in our family room but she is resistant. So far they are staying in her Art Studio a.k.a. the furnace room. I don't know why she doesn't want them out -- they're great!

  5. Debra....I used to feel the same way....but one day I realized that at 66 I better start appreciating my artistic abilities before I run out of time. I hope she will let you share them with us one day.

  7. Your pieces are wonderful. I love the reused items and how they were worked into your pieces. I used to paint- years ago- but I don't have any of my paintings anymore- xo Diana

  8. I'm afraid I have no talent for making things - unlike you, you can be proud.

  10. Oh, Jo, you have such talent! These are just lovely -- and even more meaningful because of the personal connection. Bravo! And yes, you're using the "good stuff!"

  11. EeeeK!Although this is a fantastic idea, my first instinct is always to get my art out of my sight as quickly as possible. I know it's not good for the creative process, I'm officially working on keeping it around now that I've read this post!

I agree with you...seeing it out keeps one moving in the creative direction....even though I am terribly critical of many things I make...heee....I do try to wear most of my own earrings...
