From time to time, I believe one should bring home a gift for their house.
I try to make a habit of this on a regular basis. It doesn't have to be anything expensive....just a thing of beauty that imparts joy to your surroundings.
Of course, one of my favorite things is flowers...but you could also bring home a new fragrant candle, or a new CD....just something to tweak your senses and make you FEEL your space.
When you really think about our home is actually one of the most important aspects of one's life. A home provides shelter, peace, harmony, stability, beauty...and the list could go on and on.
So....besides keeping your spot clean and tidy...I think each one of us, should on a regular basis....bring home a gift for the house.
Your house will love you for it.
hugs,
Jo
Oh- Thank you- You have just relieved me of so much guilt! lol Great thoughts! xo Diana

ReplyDeleteThis is a great reminder. I live in a beautiful home and it deserves gifts and gratitude.
ReplyDeleteJo...my husband would say I buy too many gifts for the house but I agree...if the object is just right..it is a must. We have been adding Buddha's to our garden...loving yours. xx

ReplyDeleteHugs,
OH, I LOVE this idea, Jo! Your images are beautiful and have a lovely, cosy feel to them. I buy things to decorate my home on occasion although, up until now, I've always looked on it as buying for me...from here-on, I will be changing my perspective. Thanks ~ xx
ReplyDeleteA very marvelous idea. Thank you a million times.....
ReplyDeleteJo, you are so wise! I love my house and need to let it know more often. In this very cold winter, I like to buy an inexpensive bouquet of flowers for my home. It makes me cheery and lightens up the house, too.
ReplyDeleteApparently I'm VERY Good to my House... I buy it Gifts all the time! *Winks* I really Love that Lampshade!

What a beautiful post, dear Jo...(and gorgeous photos)....
ReplyDeleteI could not agree with you more....
Flowers, music, beautiful scents...I am now inspired to gift my home a little something new and lovely!
So glad you are feeling well again! It took me almost a month to get over this virus too....
Blessings and joy,

I thoroughly agree! I talk to my house - we watched it being built on a modern estate 19 years ago and are the only family to have lived in it - it breathes our personality and every creak of floorboard is an indication that one of us four people have made an imprint on this place! Ilove my house! Thanks for visiting and commenting - You have a lovely blog. Betty
ReplyDeleteOh my, I love this post! Couldn't agree with you more, I am always amazed how just a little thing as simple as a nice smelling candle gives a home such positive vibes. Btw, I love your Buddha statue. I am looking for one. :)
ReplyDeleteI really like Betty's idea of talking to your house. I have never thought of that, but I talk to everything else, why not my house?
Your blog is very inspiring, Jo.
