Creativity is HEALING......it can mend a broken heart.......it can fill up a soul.
Today.....I'm joining other Blogger's in Where Bloggers Create II hosted by Karen Valentine.
My little spot is not grand or glorious, in fact it has several purposes in my life.
It is my TV room, Library and art studio.
It is furnished with cast offs from several houses and did not cost much to put together, but it is MY ROOM to do with as I please.
I can read
I can watch TV
I can light a fire when it is chilly enough
Or I can paint or craft in my little bay-window area that is closed off by a curtain
It may not be the grandest of areas or the most beautifully decorated but it is a spot where I can become completely calm and focused and let my imagination wander at will.
I truly believe when you are in that spot.......you are talking to God through your creativity and he is holding your spirit in the palm of his hand.
Thank you Karen for hosting this marvelous event. Please visit all the other bloggers who are participating and see all the wonderful and creative studios out there.
Have a fun filled week or so with all your visits!!!!!
Hello my friend... your beautiful spot takes my breath away! Like you, I think of my little place as more than a room to craft in, it is my little retreat from the world as well... your colors are sooo warm and inviting, I could just sit in there all day and daydream (I do alot of that!)... thanks for much for inviting me in for a visit... love to you... xoxo Julie Marie.. PS I do feel for you and your little "venting" post yesterday... life is too short to focus on negative people... be happy and enjoy your beautiful life with your wonderful family that loves you! xoxo again, Moi
ReplyDeleteHi again Jo -- yikes, I didn't realize my previous message was so long. And didn't even think it had posted because I got one of those internet explorer messages that said I was no longer connected. Sorry to write a book for ya. HA! Honestly, sometimes it just feels good to get it out of your system. I love your space that has many uses. My dining table is a terrible mess and I must get it cleaned up before the kids and I head to the States on the 27th. Otherwise, my husband says it all goes in the garbage. :) Have a great weekend. Best wishes, Tammy

You have such a lovely room, for just you.
ReplyDeleteAs Joseph Campbell said; I paraphrase... We all need our own sacred space.
Thank you for letting me know that I didn't let people know, where that old marble is going. Thank you. I added a link to a previous post and added the words: "for cabinet in new laundry room."
You know, I *pride* myself on being almost too clear, in blogging. But I "fell down" that time. :-) Thank you.
Gentle hugs...
Oh Jo, I could certainly feel very comfortable and at home in your creative heaven :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and sharing your creative space. It looks so inviting and relaxing. I loved your comment about talking to God while being creative. It is nice to slip into that time with Him and appreciate the gifts he has given us to share with others.
ReplyDeleteJo, I'm still making my way through the list! Your words about creating being healing grabbed my attention. I've always called it therapy, but I like the word healing as well! A bay window and a fireplace in your special place, how wonderful is that?! The "warmth" your room gives off is so inviting. A lovely spot you've created for yourself! Xo, Sue
ReplyDeleteI think it is quite wonderful that you can have so many functions in one space. How cozy it would be to rest by your fire or paint your day away in that wonderful bay window. Thank you for sharing your creative haven.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful creative space you have there....just perfect! I can feel the welcoming warmth coming forth from your pictures.
ReplyDeleteSitting down to create in front of that large window must be really nice. Even though I have a studio room often I like to be working down around my family, so I appreciate that place by the window. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteYour space is lovely and calming and looks like a great place to create. Although I got my studio up too late for the party (just posted it a week ago), I'm getting so many ideas from visiting cozy spaces like yours. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI think it is very grand and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have only been blogging for a month but I hope to take part next year.

The collage for your banner is realy pretty - it is fun to see all those great pieces layered together.
ReplyDeleteYour studio is great & love that it serves so many purposes. The bay window where you work has such great light... and I imagine is very condusive to creativity.
It was wonderful seeing all the areas in your room and imagining you curled up in a chair with the fire glowing on a chilly winter night. :D
