"THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER WHERE YOU WATER IT."
Unknown
All of us are creative in some way.....yes, each and everyone of us.
How many times have you said to yourself....oh...I'm not creative at all?
The above pictures were taken several years ago at the Dale Chihuly exibit at our Desert Botanical Gardens. Do you think Chihuly ever said to himself....oh...I'm not creative...even when he was making all these weird pieces of glass....Of course he didn't.
Since the beginning of mankind...man has been creating art...in caves and beyond....each time this creative process happens everyone of us is touching that soul source...our connection with the divine...
Myth and ancient stories came from this connection...trying to figure out why we are here...and what life is about.
We are never to old to start this creative journey....living an artistic life...
So let's...all of us....make time.....make art....of some kind...let's add to life's beauty.
hugs,
Jo

Jo, you are enticing me to get away from the computer and start cross stitching again! Someday....
ReplyDeletelove the photos!!!where were these taken?
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend:)
ok...I have to say, I have always thought of myself as NOT creative. I love beautiful things, but can't seem to come up with any creative idea of my own.
ReplyDeleteThat glass work is amazing !!! Kind of reminds me of an amazing glass work that is in the Abravenal Hall (symphony hall) in Salt Lake City that was done when they hosted the Olympics. It is spectacular.
some people's minds are pretty awesome
I saw his amazing exhibition at Meijers Botanical Garden in Grand Rapids MI a couple of years ago with my cousin and aunt. Yes, we all have some sort of creativity hiding inside of us just waiting to come out and it ebbs and flows just like the sea. Mine is slowly coming back in the form of crochet at the moment. Hope you are having a beautiful day. Tammy
ReplyDeleteOh wow you and I are on the same plane today!!! This is amazing!!! I just posted on Bruno Torfs...this guy seems to be of similar mindset using the environment for his background...I love how these pieces just blend into the environment...at first I thought it really was a plant!!! LOL Have a great weekend Jo!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo many people do not believe they have creative or artistic abilities and that is a sad thing. Doing anything creative adds wealth to the soul. The glass work is marvelous and I love the setting for it.
ReplyDeleteVery good share, excellent reminder.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of
ReplyDeleteDale Chihuly's work
and loved seeing it
here! Hope you are
enjoying a beautiful,
sunny winter's day!

I really appreciate this post because I have always described me and my sister as "She is the one with all the artistic talent." And indeed she is an artist and a very talented one. Recently, I have tried my hand at a couple of crafts and really had a great time. With no pressure as an "artist," I just had fun. And one of the things turned out very nicely. So there you go. Learning to create at 60!
ReplyDeleteWhat a true and wonderful concept. No we are never to old to be creative. Look at Grandma Moses! Loved the photos...
ReplyDeleteHugs~
I was always called the "artistic child" which I think helped me to believe it and follow my dream of being the artist. Isn't Chihuly's work out of this world amazing!
ReplyDelete~hello there and thank you so for taking the time in your day to day to stumble over and leave such sweet kind words...'
