A GIFT FOR THE HOUSE.................................

From time to time, I believe one should bring home a gift for their house.

I try to make a habit of this on a regular basis.  It doesn't have to be anything expensive....just a thing of beauty that imparts joy to your surroundings.

Of course, one of my favorite things is flowers...but you could also bring home a new fragrant candle, or a new CD....just something to tweak your senses and make you FEEL your space.

When you really think about our home is actually one of the most important aspects of one's life.  A home provides shelter, peace, harmony, stability, beauty...and the list could go on and on.

So....besides keeping your spot clean and tidy...I think each one of us, should on a regular basis....bring home a gift for the house.
Your house will love you for it.

FRESH SQUEEZED O.J....HOMEMADE CHICKEN SOUP......HOT TEA.....ON THE MENU HERE...

My beautiful soul mate and I have come down with the "hoopazootis".....as my sweet Aunt Ruth calls it.  We are down for the count.

Drinking lots of O.J. and eating homemade chicken soup.
I read somewhere that this combination is the best thing for this virus that is going around.

Will be back when I feel better.

Stay well....this stuff is nasty....and it has really hit our country hard.  AZ seems to be a hotbed for the stuff.

hugs,

Jo

ALL CHICKEN OR ALL FEATHERS............

"A man does not show his greatness by being at one extremity, but rather by touching both at once."
Blaise Pascal

~~Good morning~~

This blog has never been a political forum...and it is not going to be...but I just wanted to comment on the recent events that have taken place in our country.

I'm speaking of the various news reports of communities wanting to arm every member with a firearm to protect themselves...or the various vigilante groups that believe there should be NO gun control.  Then there are the folks who think NO ONE should own a gun.....(which will never happen by the way...it is sort of like trying to fix the problem after the horse has left the barn)....and let's not forget the folks who want EVERY gun purchase checked and registered with the government. Or how about the group who want teachers to have firearms in the classroom....the list goes on and on.

This is a critically serious problem for our country, and
I certainly don't have the answer here...but it does seem to me that as a country....we have trouble finding the MIDDLE ROAD...it is either ALL CHICKEN OR ALL FEATHERS.

Just me thinking out loud today.

hugs,

Jo

QUIET TIME................................

~~Quiet Time~~

Still the mind
Slow your breath

Breath in
Breath out

So Simple
So difficult

Mind always racing
Soft breath
Hard breath

Breath in
Breath out

So simple
So difficult

WANTS VERSUS NEEDS..................

A lot of us have inspiration boards....those things we want to acquire or achieve....or we use them for motivation in various projects.

The above board has a lovely house in France....a beautiful woman...a ticket to the theatre...you get the picture.

Thus the reason for this post.  I believe many of us, myself included, confuse wants with needs.

I would LOVE to have a house in France....but do I NEED one...I think not.

I would LOVE to be BEAUTIFUL all the time....but is it really necessary.....no.

Theatre tickets....I love the theatre...but do I have to attend EVERY show that comes to town....NOT.

So this year as my resolution.....I am resolved to purchased ONLY THINGS I NEED.  Items necessary for my survival...physically, spiritually and emotionally....That means an end to impulse spending and really thinking about what I am purchasing.

This is my New Year's Resolution.....
I'll let you know how I do.

hugs from me to you,

Jo
