A LITTLE FURTHER ALONG WITH OUR MOVE-IN......................................

O.K. for those of you who asked.....a few more pictures as we are getting settled in our little spot.  I indicated before that we used all of our existing things in this move.  We had to sell many of the larger pieces as they would no long serve us here...but we got full use of the stuff while we had it.

The above pics are really the whole living area in our home.  It is an open room concept so the living and dining area are all in one big area.

Some of our art pieces that we have had for over 20 years are now able to have "pride of place" in the few little niches we have above doors, etc.  The above piece is RAKU....does anyone remember that?  It is called HIS BEATING HEART and was made many years ago by a local artist in Flagstaff.  It simply got lost in the old house....but here it can be shown nicely.

Above the door is some of my cross collection.  I used to use this old bread board to display my junk hand made jewelry...but I decided to use it as a way to make our space a little more sacred.

Now on to the TV room.  Here is where I watch movies with the pups.  I have to cover the furniture with rugs because little boy dog sometimes likes to dig on the furniture and it gets destroyed in no time flat.

I've used my old glove forms to hold postcards I picked up in Texas a few years back.

The small green cabinet actually held spices in our last house...but I have no room in my little kitchen so I'm using it in here.  The antique oak icebox was the first piece of furniture I bought with Brad.  I'll never part with it as it has been in every home since.

I have made ONE recent purchase....LOL.  I found this on the internet and since I NEVER SEE ANYTHING WITH MY NAME ON IT....had to have it.  It is dated between the 1920's and l930's..I guess back then if you were on the cheer squad you painted your name on your megaphone.  It really serves no purpose other than making me smile.  As you can see I still have my love affair with color going on....and was finally able to have a really dark room to hang around in.

We are thrilled with this little home....it is so much less to care for and we feel like we are getting a "big hug when we come in the door".

Well enough for today...the kitchen still has a ways to go as does my art studio...but that will wait for another day.

Kind thoughts to all.

  6. Your new place is looking lovely! That round mirror piece is stunning. I had to smile when you explained the rugs covering your couch. I have to do the same here because my two little fur-kids love to dig at the soft furniture. I'm not sure what they think they are achieving but it's like they are making imaginary doggy nests to cocoon in after the digging stops. lol

A megaphone with your name on....cool buy!

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY......I'M GOING TO HAVE A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY MONTH!!!

I turn 67 today.....and actually I feel better as the years accumulate.  Since I've gotten older I actually have decided that I will celebrate each day during the month of October...just being grateful for being healthy and alive.   I hope each one of you who follow this little blog of mine celebrate each day along with me.... Here are some of the things I have planned for my birthday month: 1.  Listing our current home the end of the first week in November.  We are pretty excited to be moving into a little smaller spot as it means less work and maintenance.  We just want to be able to live more and work less.  Although we still have not found our new spot.....we know it is out there.   2.  Taking a 15 day cruise on the Rhine from Amsterdam to Budapest.  We will visit 5 countries along the way.  One of the stops will be in the place I was born....Nuremberg, Germany.  My  family  left Germany right after the war...when I was quite young.  Memories are almos

PUTTING ON MY GYPSY SHOES......................

Bo Bunny Paper Collection Well.......the coach is packed...the laundry done in the condo....and we will be on our way tomorrow. I often do feel like a gypsy moving from one spot to another....and each year my gratitude grows as I am able to continue this lifestyle. I truly would love to "do up" my coach in Gypsy Style...but alas....not too practical as things probably would be flying all over as we traveled down the road.  (O: But.....a girl can dream.....can't she? ~~~ My suitcase is packed with memories To be opened further down the road When my caravan must be halted The bag waits to be opened Stories to be told and shared Like the gypsy's of so long ago But for now....the wheels keep turning And my case grows larger still Waiting for the day..I must be stopped   And my heart, to the brim, will be filled Hugs from me to you, Jo Gypsy photos:  Electric Gipsyland on Flickr

HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS

This is a picture of our little tree this year.  Each year our trees seem to be smaller, a function of our getting older and just wanting to deal with less stuff.  I'm sure a few of you feel them same.  Although it does seem to be a little weird that we want to deal with fewer Christmas decorations and give each other MORE STUFF in the way of presents under the tree.   Ahhh...being human is such a quandary sometimes!                                          MERRY CHRISTMAS                                                          Jo
