The soul goes by many different names~~
Hinduism ~ Atman
Jainism ~ Jiva
Sikhism ~ Atma - "roohu"
Christianity ~ Soul
Jewish ~ Soul
Buddhism ~ Anatma - No-self/No Soul
Just to mention a few:
"Each person has an ideal, a hope, a dream~which represents the soul. We must give it the warmth of love, the light of understanding and the essence of encouragement."
Calley Dorr Dom
How do you nurture your soul?
I love reading the words of our Prophet knowing that the Lord is talking directly to me through their words. My soul needs to be continually watered through reading and listening to the stories of others and their triumphs over dark times.
ReplyDeleteI nurture my soul by relishing in the beauty of nature. Even living here in the city, if one seeks, one can find it.

I nurture my soul through faith, love, compassion, forgiveness and thankfulness for blessings in my life.

One way is by spending time at my cabin, where I was this last weekend. Being away from the computer, the phone, the TV, enjoying nature, sitting by the creek, reading and reading and reading. Ahhhh, that was great.

Walking in the great outdoors. If only our weather would cooperate. I could walk all day long. :) Hope your week is a good one. Tammy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Jo~ I feel most at peace and like the universe has melted away - leaving no cares at all behind when I am consumed by creativity.
