I chose the above picture today because that little structure looks so alone and forlorn in that beautiful field of lavender.
Same with the hollyhocks...all alone in the above garden. I feel that there was once a thriving blogging community that blogged for the mere sake of posting something uplifting or beautiful or sharing a bit of useful information.
In my opinion, that seems to have been put by the wayside and replaced by Facebook or Twitter or some other social media platform.
I truly miss all the blogs that seem to have disappeared from the net.
Do any of you agree with me on this?
I have always been of the opinion that old things are the best things. I guess that includes people too!! haha
Just me spouting off...as usual.

I started my blog in 2007 and I focus on upbeat things, mostly. Many of my fav bloggers continue to blog, I am happy to note. I hope FB and Twitter never replace blogging, blogging is more relaxed and we take the time to chat. Your two photos are lovely. Come on over and say hi.
ReplyDeleteI'm still here and have no plans to go elsewhere. C'mon over to Marmelade Gypsy!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, you're absolutely right. There was a massive exodus to "easier" and "quicker" platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Many people who still want to blog are over on Instagram now, which is the current "cool" spot. Some have moved on to YouTube or podcasts. The blogsphere has a revolving door on it!
ReplyDeleteI am one of those disappearing Bloggers. I stay on Blogger to read and comment on the posts of those I have gotten to know and like, but similar to my life, I am winding down. I have full intentions of writing again, but don’t know when that will be.
ReplyDeleteI've been blogging since 2008, you are right about the exodus of bloggers going to FB, Twitter and Instagram. I'm not on any of those. I enjoy blogging, although, I don't do as much as I used to.
ReplyDeleteYep...my blog featuring my oil paintings, was very busy with lots of comments a decade ago, but it seems that cellphones have replaced PC's and people are constantly playing with them...and facebook is "old" too. I think Twitter is ridiculous...posting to the world what you're doing every minute (who cares and who has the time)...and Instagram is the replacement with it's immediately gratifying flashes of images, no reading. Seems a shame. My blog barely gets any hits anymore so I eventually stopped posting. jeanneillenye.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI fully agree that blogs are disappearing like hand-written notes in the post, long telephone chats and glossy magazines. I know that it is time consuming for those who write but i do miss their inspiration and talent.
