THIS AND THAT........ALONG THE ROAD.........

Well......we have passed through Montana and Wyoming and are currently in Colorado.....

Just wanted to share a few photos of the wonderful sculptures that lined every street of Sheridan, Wyoming.

And, of course, my absolute favorite.......

Is this rhino....not the best?  Look at the little bird on his shoulder.....complete down to the last detail...

This community is so supportive of artists...with each piece being commissioned by people in the community as an effort to keep art ALIVE.  A lot of these have  been commissioned during the last few years..during these difficult economic times.  Keeping art alive and helping artists support themselves is definitely a priority here.  I think this is so very important ...... as Art is food for the soul.

Hugs from me to you while on the road.

P.S.  Still really hard to visit and download blogs....took me forever to download these pics....please bear with me and understand why I'm not visiting each of you.

PUTTING ON MY GYPSY SHOES......................

Bo Bunny Paper Collection

Well.......the coach is packed...the laundry done in the condo....and we will be on our way tomorrow.

I often do feel like a gypsy moving from one spot to another....and each year my gratitude grows as I am able to continue this lifestyle.

I truly would love to "do up" my coach in Gypsy Style...but alas....not too practical as things probably would be flying all over as we traveled down the road.  (O:

But.....a girl can dream.....can't she?

~~~
My suitcase is packed with memories
To be opened further down the road
When my caravan must be halted
The bag waits to be opened
Stories to be told and shared
Like the gypsy's of so long ago
But for now....the wheels keep turning
And my case grows larger still
Waiting for the day..I must be stopped
And my heart, to the brim, will be filled
Hugs from me to you,
Jo
HANGIN' OUT...............................................
Artist:  Sharon Lynn Williams
No......not that kind of hangin' out......LOL
We are really not doing much of anything right now....packing up is finished, have visited with friends and most of them have headed for their respective homes for the winter.
Skyler is now in his third lesson in class.
This was the sign Miss Ellie has waiting for us the first day....
We are making some progress....but he is FAR from being the teacher's pet...I might add. (O:  He does keep us busy...but.....
I'm actually not very good at just hanging out....you would think by now, at my age, that I would be more comfortable with that concept.  I'm the kind of lady who always has a project, or has to be doing "something".....to waste time is very uncomfortable for me.  Guess that is a lesson I'm going to have to learn.  As I get older, I'm quite sure I'll be doing more Hangin' Out...so I best learn how, huh??  LOL
Wanted to close with this great sign:
That's it from here.
Hugs,
Jo
MOVING ON.......................................
Well, this weekend my wonderful husband and I  packed up the condo in Montana.
We are packing personal items we want to take back to AZ with us this year.  Our condo is up for sale and we are not yet sure we are going to participate in the rental program up here.  So...getting it ready just in case.
I don't know about you...but once I have moved on from a spot....I am ready for a new adventure.
We have such wonderful memories from each place we have lived and when we pack our beloved things.....all those memories come flooding back.
I have always tried to keep just a little something from each spot to incorporate in our home down south.  Whether it is a beautiful photo or piece of art
Or just something to refer to from time to time so the memories come flooding back....
You know, when I was younger, I had such a hard time with change....and now....I seem to embrace it.  What a change of heart for me!
We will be here a while longer doing some exploring and visiting old friends...but at the same time figuring out what our new plans are for our next adventure.  One thing  know for sure is whatever we do.....it will involve being somewhere that is beautiful and welcoming.....
Have a restful evening beautiful friends.
Hugs,
Jo
A RAINY DAY IN MONTANA....CALLS FOR A BIG POT O' SOUP..........
Here is how it looked from our balcony two days ago........here is what it looks like today......
Had a nice rain overnight and now low clouds with an overcast sky. I always think these low, low clouds look like Santa's eyebrows....makes me smile!  Anyway......
On these kind of days...I like to make my clean out the refrigerator soup....
I'm sure each of you has a recipe for this but here is mine:
One large chicken breast boiled in water used to make broth for soup and meat used in soup.
Two Johnsonville Brats....I fry these in a pan and cut them up in pieces before adding to my stock.
Here is what I used today as I had these things on hand...
Diced chicken and Brats
Piece of kale
Two organic carrots
Diced onion to taste
Garlic to taste
Sweet potato left over from last night
One small can of beans....any kind...I used navy....since they were what I had on hand
You can also add a can of diced tomatoes if desired....I didn't today
Salt and pepper
Also....throw in any herbs you might like in your soup.  I only have fresh Basil on hand and don't know if I will add this today.
Another thing I used leftovers for  is croutons.
I love croutons in homemade soup.  I had some left over hamburger buns so I simply diced them up....drizzled olive oil over it...and popped my cookie sheet in the oven set at 400 degrees and baked until nice a brown.  You need to keep an eye on these as they will burn easily....LOL....I know from experience...LOL LOL.
Well that is it for today....going to have my homemade soup for dinner this evening....
Here is a huge hug from my kitchen to yours!~!!!!!
