THANK-YOU................EVERYONE............

I want to thank all of you who have made such wonderful comments and sent such encouraging emails as a result of my last post.

I guess I really did not realize how many wonderful friends I have made through the years......

Anyway.....we will be home in AZ soon...and it will be so much easier for me to answer emails.  Emailing while traveling is so very complicated....and you all know what a TECHNOSLUG ......I am.  LOL LOL LOL

After reading all of your responses,  I have come to realize that I have let a few negative people drive my decision....sometimes that is easy to do in this complicated world of ours.

Therefore, I plan on continuing my blog and refuse to let a few negative people affect me to such an extent....but probably will be "pulling the shade down for a while"....as one of you beautiful ladies suggested.  I still will be visiting blogs but probably will be putting my posting on the back burner for a bit.

Once again, ALL OF YOU are the very best!!

hugs,

Jo

  1. I am so glad that you are going to continue blogging. As Shakespeare put it "to thine own self be true" If you want to share the beauty, many (myself included) will appreciate it. There is enough bad stuff without dwelling on it. Can't wait till you are back in AZ.

  2. Jo, I am SO happy that you are keeping your blog!!! You're right, why let negative people affect your choices in life. Your positive influence is the blogosphere is needed and appreciated. x

It's always good to get back home, isn't it? Tho you'll probably miss travelling too. Arizona is one place I always wanted to visit, mainly due to me strong interest in the Navajo, Hopi and Apache Native peoples.

I'm looking forward to your future posts.

    Travel safe and well,
    Serena x

  4. Oh. Great news. I seem to have been reading this a lot lately, rude and nasty comments left for others. So sad, but I can only imagine how their lives must be to treat others like that. Does not excuse that behavior mine you.

I am working on a jubilee quilt to mark the year I turned 50. I took the blocks to the quilt shop in hopes of picking out some sashing fabrics. The lady was so rude and practically turned up her nose at my scrappy blocks. She clearly thought they were ugly and was in no way interested in helping me or making a sale. I felt terrible as I thought they were really pretty. They are pretty...and I almost let her dictate how I felt about it. Some people these days have clearly forgot their manners.

Hang in there!!! There are more positive folks than negative I do believe.

  8. Dearest Josette, Continue to write because it is something you enjoy. I am a "glass is half full" girl. Like you, I didn't begin my blog to sell anything, vent or share my trials and tribulations. I began because I love to write, to encourage and inspire, and if I give someone a chuckle...that is even better. I believe beneath every misstep in life there is a blessing to be found. If someone gets happy off of someone else's misery, let them open a newspaper. Please don't allow others to stop you from doing something you enjoy or doing it the way that makes you happy. Your photographs are lovely. Be safe. When you begin writing again please let me know. Best wishes to you. Be safe!

  9. I am so pleased you will stay a blogger. I understand how it is with traveling. With our travel it has changed my blogging, reading and research time. Still adjusting.

Blogging is a for me, to share, to express, to learn, it is a good thing.

whatever you choose let it be just for you!

unkind persons love to share their misery.......try to ignore them, as you said.

you may email me.....address on my profile.

people who privately manage their life and share the cream of life are very special. you. are. special.

    love & ((hugs))

  12. I am so wonderfully pleased that you decided to keep this lovely place open and alive. Your blog is the perfect representation of you and the beauty within your heart and soul and it would be a shame to let the opinions of the few take that beauty away from all of us who truly love you! With love and hugs always, Mitzi

  13. I'm behind on reading blogs and just read your good-bye. Don't you dare do that to me. (notice this is all about me).Your blog is the most beautiful one I read and you have no idea how that makes my day. You help me see the beauty of the world which I can't seem to find on my own. I am so excited you've rethought your decision. Thank you.

It's only going to be 78 on Friday and that is much too cold for me right now. But next week should be just about perfect. High 80's and low 90's. Yippee!

  16. Hooray Hooray Hooray Dear Jo!!!
Take time for you, take care of you, and know that there are many more of us out there who care about you and appreciate what you do and who you are, than those who (in my humble opinion) who have no business leaving negative comments anyway..heee...
(sheesh...no one is forcing them to visit...)
I am very happy you decided to continue...take care and be well!
    Much love,

  18. I'm so happy Jo! Can't wait til you come back. Just remember--it's how you feel about yourself that's important, not what others "think" they know about you. Bless you.

  21. Don't let the negative Nellie's stop you from doing things you enjoy...NO MATTER what that may be.
YAY...I'll keep my eye open for any new posts from you, I am doing a few cartwheels for ya. (and that's hard, cause I am NOT as limber as I used to be) OK, maybe a cartwheel isn't a good idea after all.

  22. you scared the crap out of me for moment there Jo. I was beginning to feel like the world was indeed falling apart in blogland. So many are commenting how they're struggling in one way or another, disappearing only to reappear to announce they are leaving altogether or feign a strained cheer just for readers....then all I see left are the ones selling their etsy's/ebay's etceteras or into decor delirium and then I really want to leave blogland too :D Personally I love hearing any kind of story, painful or beautiful, from real people...that is LIFE. I just don't like seeing REAL and sensitive authentic people go away....your blog is gorgeous. You only need a few good companions in blogland as I discovered, and they are those who choose to stay no matter what....right?

  23. Good for you! I have been absent a lot due to family and health issues. I blog for enjoyment and you should not let rude or unkind people take up space in your brain or let them get under your skin like that.It is your blog and why should you stop blogging because of a handful of miserable people. I am so glad you decided to continue blogging for your self.~Ames

  26. Sometimes we just need to take a break. I've gotten behind on blog reading lately, so I was surprised by your last post and glad to see this one! You have been a steadfast blog friend to me, and I was worried that you were already "gone" and I had not had a chance to thank you. Whatever you decide to do, you have been a shining light in blog world, and you are much appreciated.

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY......I'M GOING TO HAVE A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY MONTH!!!

I turn 67 today.....and actually I feel better as the years accumulate.  Since I've gotten older I actually have decided that I will celebrate each day during the month of October...just being grateful for being healthy and alive.   I hope each one of you who follow this little blog of mine celebrate each day along with me.... Here are some of the things I have planned for my birthday month: 1.  Listing our current home the end of the first week in November.  We are pretty excited to be moving into a little smaller spot as it means less work and maintenance.  We just want to be able to live more and work less.  Although we still have not found our new spot.....we know it is out there.   2.  Taking a 15 day cruise on the Rhine from Amsterdam to Budapest.  We will visit 5 countries along the way.  One of the stops will be in the place I was born....Nuremberg, Germany.  My  family  left Germany right after the war...when I was quite young.  Memories are almos

PUTTING ON MY GYPSY SHOES......................

Bo Bunny Paper Collection Well.......the coach is packed...the laundry done in the condo....and we will be on our way tomorrow. I often do feel like a gypsy moving from one spot to another....and each year my gratitude grows as I am able to continue this lifestyle. I truly would love to "do up" my coach in Gypsy Style...but alas....not too practical as things probably would be flying all over as we traveled down the road.  (O: But.....a girl can dream.....can't she? ~~~ My suitcase is packed with memories To be opened further down the road When my caravan must be halted The bag waits to be opened Stories to be told and shared Like the gypsy's of so long ago But for now....the wheels keep turning And my case grows larger still Waiting for the day..I must be stopped   And my heart, to the brim, will be filled Hugs from me to you, Jo Gypsy photos:  Electric Gipsyland on Flickr

HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS

This is a picture of our little tree this year.  Each year our trees seem to be smaller, a function of our getting older and just wanting to deal with less stuff.  I'm sure a few of you feel them same.  Although it does seem to be a little weird that we want to deal with fewer Christmas decorations and give each other MORE STUFF in the way of presents under the tree.   Ahhh...being human is such a quandary sometimes!                                          MERRY CHRISTMAS                                                          Jo
